1. What has been the most significant accomplishment in your life? Why.

In my life with the aid of my beloved God I have been able to experience different achievements but the most significant is to finish my career and to have the privilege to participate in a contest as important as this, where I face many beauties and different cultures, by which I will give all my with effort, dedication and pledge.

En mi vida con la ayuda de mí amado Dios e podido experimentar diferentes logros pero los más significativos es el poder terminar mi carrera y tener el privilegio de participar en un concurso tan importante como este, en donde me enfrento a bellezas y culturas diferentes, por el cual daré todo mi con esfuerzo, dedicación y empeño.

When we learn to respect ourselves and to see the value within ourselves and the important role we play in the middle of the society in which we live.

¿En qué punto llega a ser una chica una mujer?

Cuando cada una de nosotras logramos respetarnos y ver lo valiosas que somos y el papel tan importante que jugamos en medio de la sociedad en la que vivimos.

 

3. With the issues facing women today, what role do you see yourself playing in your country to improve this situation?

Nowadays women have transcended from many obstacles and slopes that in the past were barriers for us, today women have many opportunities and possibilities to do well, by my part the best way to improve the situation is to do things with excellence in all the areas in which I develop myself. Contributing my services as a professional and helping socially to the community.

¿Con los asuntos que enfrentan las mujeres  hoy, qué papel te ves jugando en tu país para mejorar esta situación?

Hoy en día las mujeres hemos transcendido de muchos obstáculos y taludes que en el pasado fueron una barrera para nosotras,  actualmente la mujer  tiene muchas oportunidades y posibilidades para salir adelante, por mi parte la mejor manera para mejorar la situación es hacer las cosas con excelencia en todos los medios en los que me desarrolle. Aportando a la sociedad mis servicios como profesional y ayudando socialmente a la comunidad.

 

4. Who do you feel is the most popular person in the world? Why?

In the world there are many important people who move in different areas that have transcended and marking the world, in my case the person or the most important people are my family. They are a godsend, have been in bad and good moments of my life as unconditionally supported me with my goals and aspirations.

¿Quien piensas que es la persona mas importante del mundo y porque?

En el mundo existen muchas personas importantes que se mueven en diferentes áreas que han trascendido y marcado al mundo entero, en mi caso la persona o las personas mas importantes son mi familia. Ellos son un regalo del cielo, han estado en malos y buenos momentos de mi vida al igual me han apoyado incondicionalmente con mis metas y aspiraciones.

 

5. What do you want to do in life?

First, to become a professional and thanks to God, I am really close to achieving this.

Second, to form a family with my partner.

And lastly, to form my own company from where I will perform my profession, Architecture and Urbanism, focused to society’s wellbeing.

Primero realizarme como una persona profesional que gracias a Dios ya estoy a poco tiempo de lograrlo.

Segundo es formar una familia junto con mi pareja.

Y como tercer punto formar una empresa propia en donde pueda realizar mi profesión “Arquitectura y Urbanismo” enfocado al bien social. 

 

6. What would you say is the biggest problem facing your Country today? Why?

In the social area I can see many young teens languishing in the midst of alcoholism, drugs and destroying their lives at an early age. This is a major problem since they are the next generation of professionals who will represent Costa Rica. Currently I am working on a center to help support and guide these young people so that with God's help they can get ahead as good persons.

¿Qué diría usted es el problema más grande que enfrenta su país hoy? ¿Por qué?

En el área social como joven puedo ver muchos adolescentes consumiéndose en el medio de las drogas y alcoholismo destrozando sus vidas desde cortas edades. Lo cual es un problema relevante ya que es la siguiente generación de profesionales que van a dar la cara por Costa Rica. Actualmente yo me encuentro trabajando en un centro para ayudar a estos  jóvenes apoyándolos y aconsejándolos para que con la ayuda de Dios salgan adelante como personas de bien.

 

7. What are the best qualities a parent could share with their children? Why?

Education, guidance, time is the greatest gift that our dear parents can give their children. This helps us develop as persons and through time we learn values such as respect, dedication to what we want, love for others, these are factors that mold us to being quality citizens.

¿Cuales son las mejores calidades que un padre podría compartir con sus niños? ¿Por qué?

La enseñanza,  dirección, el tiempo invertido es el mejor regalo que nuestros queridos padres pueden dar a sus hijos. Esto nos ayuda a desarrollarnos como personas y el aprendizaje que através del tiempo nos inculcan valores como lo son el respeto, la dedicación a lo que queremos, el amor al prójimo, son factores que forman una pauta y así una proyección como ciudadanos de calidad. 

 

8. If you showed me around your country, where would you take me? Why?

Internationally my country is ranked third in rich ecological conservation, according to studies in the United States and therefore it possesses very exotic places either reserves, parks, volcanoes and a variety of green scenarios where I would certainly take a Tourists who want to know my beautiful country.

¿Si usted me paseara alrededor de su país, dónde me llevaría? ¿Por qué?

A nivel internacional mi país es catalogado como el tercero en riqueza y conservación ecológica, según estudios realizados en Estados Unidos y ende a ello, posee lugares muy exóticos ya sean reservas, parques, volcanes y variedad de escenarios verdes en donde llevaría sin duda a un turista que quiera conocer mi hermoso país. 

 

9. Tell me about a recent goal you accomplished.

First having the privilege of participating in this prestigious competition is an achievement in my life, like an extraordinary experience that has helped me grow and mature as a person. An achievement that requires a lot of effort and dedication to give to light the best image of my beloved Costa Rica.

Dígame acerca de un objetivo reciente que usted logró.

Primeramente tener el privilegio  de participar de tan prestigiado concurso es un logro en mi vida, al igual que una experiencia impresionante que me ha ayudado a crecer y madurar como persona. Un logro que me exige consigo  mucho empeño y dedicación para dar a relucir la mejor imagen de mi querida Costa Rica.

 

10. Tell me about cultural activities in your country.

My country is very rich culturally and to protect it various activities are held throughout the year, such as festivals and fairs cantonal art exhibition and performances thus traveling with education aimed at all ages and thus give a better understanding of Costa Rica. This and many more activities have helped my country to preserve its identity and that children and tourists get to know who Costa Rica is.

Mi país es muy rico culturalmente y para preservarlo se realizan diferentes actividades através del año, como son las fiestas y ferias cantonales, exhibición de  artes y presentaciones itinerantes con ende educacional, dirigido a todas las edades y así dar una mejor interpretación del costarricense. 1. What has been the most significant accomplishment in your life? Why?

My most significant accomplishment this far in my life, beyond graduating high school or being a good grades law student; was being able, through hard work, to buy and pay my own car. And it may seem superficial and/or materialistic, but I set myself this goal and always considered it impossible for an 18 year old girl to be able to achieve this kind of goal. And so, it isn’t the money or the car I bought; is the fact that I set myself to do something I thought almost impossible but, with my mind set and determination, I accomplished it.

2. At what point does a girl become a woman?

Girls become women when they learn to deal with the responsibilities that adultness brings with it. Some might believe that it has something to do with the physiological changes that take place in puberty; or with making the decision of having sex. But is has more to do with the emotional and psychological maturity what involves becoming a women. Comes from taking blame of our mistakes, merit of our achievements and charge of our own lives.

3. With the issues facing women today, what role do you see yourself playing in your country to improve this situation?

I think that women have made incredible progress when it comes to achieving gender equality. But we are not quite finished. I`m determined to achieve that equality demonstrating that women are capable of playing roles that men do. That calling us the “weaker sex” is no longer right. So I think that what us women need to do to overcome all the issues that we face, is to achieve gender equality by demonstrating that we are capable, not weak.

4. Who do you feel is the most popular person in the world? Why?

I think that undeniably the most popular person in the world is Jesus. And it isn´t just because I´m catholic; I believe in Jesus and in the message he brought; but no other person has influenced the entire world like he did. We created a division between years attending to the year of his birth. Religions all over the world believe in his message and teachings and portray him as a prophet. And mostly important to me; is that the lessons that he came to teach us are those that preach acceptance, peace, respect and love for God and all his creatures, a very simple message but also a very important one.

5. What do you want to do in life?

This may be the most difficult question someone has ever asked me before. Because I never sat down and planned what I wanted to do in life. But something I do know is that I want to do something meaningful with it. Make a change no matter how small it may be. What I do know, one goal or task I have put upon myself, is to put my efforts to protect and save our wildlife. I believe that we can make plans for our lives, but if we don`t take care for the planet we live; our plans will go to waste. So maybe that is my plan, because it is one that I will never stop working on it; beyond a plan it`s a commitment.

 6. What would you say is the biggest problem facing your Country today? Why?

Even though our rate of analphabetism isn`t particularly high; I think the lack of education. We have a weak system, and it seems that our governments can`t see the importance of a solid and current education system. I believe education (and a good and useful one) is the strongest weapon mankind has, an educated person is able to take part into solving other problems aching his/her society. But a persona that hasn`t got the opportunity to develop through education is a mine of potential going to waste. So I think that the biggest problem is definitely the lack f an integral and functional education, and that when we solve this problem, we`ll be in our way to solving most of the problems remaining in the world. 

 7. What are the best qualities a parent could share with their children? Why?

The best teaching a parent could give to his/her children is acceptance. There are billions of people in this world and it is clear that we are going to find ourselves in situations where we don’t agree with what another is saying; it might upset or bother us. But if we acknowledge that we all have valid ideas, since we are all equals, and accept other people`s opinions; we will find more agreement than if we all though the same. Because I think that the beauty of mankind relies in the fact that we all think differently, and teaching our children to respect and accept those ideas might that differ with ours; is the best lesson we could give them.

 8. If you showed me around your country, where would you take me? Why?

If I could bring you to my country I would try to show you every little piece and place of it. I would take you to the city, where u would be able to see how our warmness and welcomeness makes us a cosmopolitan country. I would take you to our beautiful beaches, to breathe the salty fresh air and feel the warmth of the sun. I would take you to our mountains so you could watch the wildlife and feel the cool and yet comforting weather. I would try to show you that my country is a paradise no matter your preferences; or at least it is to me! 

9. Tell me about a recent goal you accomplished.

Recently I got a job in “Fundación MarViva”; a non-governmental and non-profit making organization dedicated to the conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal resources. In this foundation we help our governmental organization in charge of protecting the environment,  ANAM or Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente (National Authority of Enviroment), to support and manage the Marine Protected Areas. I`m very passionate about protecting the wildlife. I believe that one of my tasks in this life is to speak for those who can´t speak for themselves; and those are the animals. That´s why I was very happy and proud of myself, because I saw that I was on the right path for fulfilling my ultimate goal in life.

10. Tell me about cultural activities in your country.

I think one of the most famous cultural activities in my country is the carnivals. It is a four-day party where people of every little town in m country pick a “queen” and crate beautiful costumes and carriages allusive to a fantasy or autochthonous theme. We also have the “ferias” where our craftsmen sell their crafts. In the “Patronales” our towns celebrate and honor their patron saint with “ferias” and processions (walking the statue of the saint around the town so people can express their devotion). We also celebrate big festivals where we show native art of local artists, music from Panamanian bands and singers, and collections of our local designers; and we also invited international artists (designers, singers and bands, etc...) that would like to participate. These are only a few of the tons of activities that you can experience in Panama.

1. What has been the most significant accomplishment in your life? Why?

The most significant accomplishment in my life was when I competed against 25 other delegates and won first place in the Reina Internacional del petróleo, a pageant held at Colombia.

¿Qué ha sido el logro más significativo en su vida? Por qué?

El más significativo es cuando concurse en Reina Internacional del petróleo que se realizo en el país de Colombia el cual gane el primer lugar ante 25 países fue una experiencia inolvidable para mí.

2. At what point does a girl become a woman?

Become a person in my career, work, family and the people around me.

¿En qué punto llega a ser una chica una mujer?

Realizarme como persona en mi carrera, trabajo, con mi familia y con la gente que me rodea.

3. With the issues facing women today, what role do you see yourself playing in your country to improve this situation?

Be closer to God so that the people who are around me start believing in themselves and reach their goals

Acercarme más a dios para tratar que la gente que me rodea crea en sí misma y llegue  a sus metas que ellas se propongan.

I think God is the most important person in the world since he is always beside me unconditionally and teaches you the value of a family

¿Quién piensas que es la persona más importante del mundo y porque?

Yo pienso que dios porque es la única persona que siempre está conmigo a mi lado incondicionalmente y te enseña el valor de la familia.

5. What do you want to do in life?

I want to fulfill myself professionally, have a good job, have a family and help people.

¿Que quires hacer en la vida?

Yo quiero realizarme profesionalmente, tener un buen  trabajo, tener una familia y ayudar a las personas.

6. What would you say is the biggest problem facing your Country today? Why?

In my country there are two problems that affect us most: the first is the uncertainty and the second pollution, many countries today, like mine, have not given due importance to our mother nature, which has caused very serious consequences, but there are many beautiful places that retain their natural beauty and purity.

¿Qué diría usted es el problema más grande que enfrenta su país hoy? ¿Por qué?

En mi país hay dos problemas que son los que más nos afecta; el primero es la inseguridad y el segundo la contaminación, hoy en día muchos países, como el mío, no hemos dado la importancia debida a  nuestra madre naturaleza, lo cual  ha ocasionado muy graves consecuencias, sin embargo existen muchos lugares hermosos que conservan  su belleza y  pureza natural.

7. What are the best qualities a parent could share with their children? Why?

Trust, patience, communication and above all, care, so that the parent-child relationship is solid.

Confianza, paciencia, comunicación y sobre todo atención para que la  relación de padre e hijo sea solida.   

8. If you showed me around your country, where would you take me? Why?

I would take you to visit the piramid of Chichen-Itza (well of the Itza) which is the eighth wonder of the world.

Lo llevaría a visitar la pirámide de “Chichen-itza” ( pozo de los itzaes) que es la octava maravilla del mundo.

The submission of a draft of an ecological park which is about giving a service to tourists by providing them with quality entertainment and culture.

1. What has been the most significant accomplishment in your life? Why

The most significant achievement is to restore the good relationship with my father since it was broken by external factors such as time and distance, and lack of communication, the family is a strong pillar in the construction of my life, that is why it was one of the most important achievements.

El logro mas significativo es recuperar la buena relación con mi padre ya que se vio rota por factores externos como el tiempo y la distancia, y la falta de comunicación, la familia es un pilar fuerte en la  construcción de mi vida es por ello que ese fue uno de los logros mas importantes.

2. At what point does a girl become a woman?

A woman is born not made, to me, you become a woman since the time you are formed in your mother's womb, from birth you come prepared to tackle the various stages of life with strength and that we all know as the sixth sense and I call it intuition, it is as if we had been created to be fighters by nature.

¿En qué punto llega a ser una chica una mujer?

Una mujer nace no se hace, para mi se es mujer desde que te formas en el vientre de tu madre, a partir del nacimiento vienes preparada para enfrentar las distintas etapas de la vida con fortaleza y eso que todos conocemos como sexto sentido y que yo llamo intuición, es como si hubiésemos sido creadas para ser luchadoras por naturaleza. 

3. With the issues facing women today, what role do you see yourself playing in your country to improve this situation?

We live in a world that is just beginning to appreciate woman as a being endowed with many qualities. In my country, sexist thoughts about machismo or feminism and the discrepancy between the two are still reflected. I think that women have great value as a person like the opposite sex. The most important is to assert our rights and fulfill our duties effectively in society, that to me is the role that I take as a woman and as a young woman show that a woman can very well develop as a mother, daughter, wife, professional or simply as a beauty queen or a model.

¿Con los asuntos que enfrentan las mujeres  hoy, qué papel te ves jugando en tu país para mejorar esta situación?

Vivimos en un mundo que apenas empieza a valorar a la mujer como un ser dotado de muchas cualidades, en mi país aun se reflejan pensamientos sexistas sobre el machismo o feminismo y la discrepancia entre ambos, pienso que la mujer tiene un gran valor como persona al igual que el sexo opuesto, lo mas importante es hacer valer nuestros derechos y cumplir eficazmente nuestros deberes en la sociedad, ese para mi es el rol que asumo como mujer y como joven demostrar que una mujer puede desarrollarse muy bien como madre, hija, esposa, profesional o simplemente como una reina de belleza o un modelo a seguir.

4. Who do you feel is the most popular person in the world? Why?

For me there was one most important person in the world; that was Jesus Christ, the Son of God who gave his life to save us. Nowadays, all human beings are important, we are all children of God.

¿Quien piensas que es la persona mas importante del mundo y porque?

Para mi existió una sola persona mas importante del mundo, ese fue Jesucristo, el hijo de Dios quien entrego su vida para salvarnos, en la actualidad,  todos  los seres humanos somos importantes, somos hijos de Dios.

5. What do you want to do in life?

Fulfill my dreams both personally and professionally, become a renowned chef, have my own restaurant business and raise a family.

¿Que quires hacer en la vida?

Hacer realidad mis sueños tanto personales como profesionales, ser una chef reconocida, tener mi propia empresa restaurante y formar una familia.

6. What would you say is the biggest problem facing your Country today? Why?

The biggest problem facing my country is the lack of interest by Nicaraguans to cope with the problems caused by political differences that directly affect the economy and many cultural aspects. I think the negative attitude of sit idly by watching as a few decide for us and slowly destroy the integrity of the nation, is the leading cause of many of the problems faced by Nicaragua, if we all united with a positive attitude to address the situation then we would find the best alternative to make the change.

¿Qué diría usted es el problema más grande que enfrenta su país hoy? ¿Por qué?

El problema más grande que enfrenta mi país es la falta de interés de los y las nicaragüenses por hacerle frente a los problemas causados por diferencias políticas que afectan directamente la economía y muchos aspectos socioculturales. Pienso que la actitud negativa de quedarnos de brazos cruzados viendo como unos cuantos deciden por nosotros y poco a poco destruyen la integridad de la nación, es la principal causa de muchos de los problemas que atraviesa Nicaragua, si todos nos uniéramos con actitud positiva para hacerle frente a la situación encontraríamos la mejor alternativa para hacer el cambio.

7. What are the best qualities a parent could share with their children? Why?

Simplicity, tolerance and strength. Simplicity will help them add value to the things that really have it and will help them find good friends. Tolerance will teach them to respect the rights of others which creates peace and strength to teach them to cope with life's obstacles.

¿Cuales son las mejores cualidades que un padre podría compartir con sus niños? ¿Por qué?

La sencillez, la tolerancia y la fortaleza. La sencillez por que les ayudara a darle valor a las cosas que realmente lo tienen y a encontrar buenos amigos, la tolerancia por que les enseñara que el respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz y la fortaleza por que les enseñara a sobrellevar los obstáculos de la vida.

8. If you showed me around your country, where would you take me? Why?

If I had the opportunity to give you a tour of my country I would begin by taking you to the beautiful colonial city of León that keeps the memories of an eminence of poetry known worldwide as the prince of Castilian letters, Rubén Darío, visit some of the museums more relevant and its majestic cathedral to know a little history. Then I will take you to one of the most visited beaches of the Pacific "Poneloya and Las Penitas" where we will take a boat ride along the John Deer Island, here you can see the nursery of turtles and make contact with nature, fishing or surfing if you prefer, hence we will not leave until you've tried a delicious fish to Suyapa in the Hotel, bar and restaurant most frequented as Suyapa Beach; where we will stay.

The second day I would take you to the north and center of the country into a place I dare say that retains its purity and naturalness, there you can walk on footpaths that reflect the flora and fauna of the rainforest or nebliselva offered by the hotel mountain called "The Shadow" located in a place called El Tuma, La Dalia municipality, between the department of Matagalpa and the RAAN, where we will stay or camp in the mountains if you prefer.

Finally I will take you to the Caribbean coast of my country to meet its pristine beaches and learn the maypole dance, taste the dish Rondón which is originally from the Atlantic coast from where you can enjoy the wildlife and reef diving.

Nicaragua has so many beautiful places to show but because of time, I took you to the places that for me are the most representative of each zone (Pacific, Central and Atlantic).

¿Si usted me paseara alrededor de su país, dónde me llevaría? ¿Por qué?

Si tuviera la oportunidad de hacerte un tour por mi país comenzaría por llevarte a la hermosa ciudad colonial de León que guarda los recuerdos de una eminencia de la poesía conocido a nivel mundial como príncipe de las letras castellanas, Rubén Darío. Visitaremos algunos de los museos mas relevantes y su majestuosa catedral para que conozcas un poco de la historia.
Luego te llevare a una de las playas más visitadas del Pacífico “Poneloya y Las Peñitas” en donde daremos un paseo en lancha por la Isla Juan venado, ahí podrás observar los viveros de tortugas y hacer contacto con la naturaleza, pescar o practicar surf si así lo prefieres, no nos iremos de ahí si no hasta que hayas probado un exquisito pescado a la suyapa en el Hotel bar y restaurante mas frecuentado del balneario “Suyapa beach” en donde nos hospedaremos.

El segundo día te llevaría a la zona norte y centro del país en un lugar que me atrevo a decir que conserva su pureza y naturalidad, ahí podrás caminar por senderos turísticos que reflejan la flora y fauna del bosque húmedo o nebliselva que ofrece el hotel de montaña llamado “ La Sombra ” ubicado en un lugar llamado El Tuma, municipio La Dalia , entre el departamento de Matagalpa y la RAAN en donde nos hospedaremos o acamparemos en la montaña si así lo prefieres.

Por último te llevare a la Costa Caribe de mi país para que conozcas sus playas cristalinas y aprendas el baile del palo de mayo, probaras el Rondón que es el plato originario de la costa atlántica y podrás apreciar su fauna buceando en arrecifes.

Nicaragua tiene tantos lugares bellos que mostrarte pero por el factor tiempo te lleve a los lugares que para mi son los mas representativos de cada zona (Pacífico, Centro y Atlántico).

9. Tell me about a recent goal you accomplished.

My most recent accomplishment was to complete my career and obtain my degree in Business Administration in Tourism & Hotel and making my parents feel proud of me.

El objetivo más reciente que logre es culminar mi carrera eficientemente, es obtener la licenciatura en Administración de Empresas Turísticas y Hoteleras y poder representar un orgullo para mis padres.

In my country, most cultural activities are linked to religious traditions, this is because we are very devoted people, the most predominant religion is Catholicism, hence arise the patron saints celebrations such as processions, equestrian parades, food fairs and the most popular known as the Gritería.

The latter is dedicated to the Virgin of the Conception who is the patron of the Nicaraguan people and whose celebration is held every year on the seventh day of December and paid promises arises from devout families with the aim of helping the needyin exchange for a miracle granted, this assistance goes from gift basket products to candy and toys for children.

Holy Week is also very respectfully celebrated with Station of the Cross processions calling the passion and death of Christ, however some people prefer to remove the heat of summer and enjoy the pleasurable resorts in the country that offer restaurant, bar and discotheque services to visitors.

Dígame acerca de actividades culturales en su país?

En mi país la mayoría de actividades culturales están ligadas a las tradiciones religiosas, esto se debe a que somos un pueblo muy devoto, la religión que más predomina es la católica, de ahí que surgen las celebraciones a los santos patronos como son las procesiones, desfiles hípicos, ferias gastronómicas y la mas popular conocida como La Gritería.

Esta última es dedicada a la Virgen de la Concepción quien es la patrona del pueblo nicaragüense y cuya celebración se realiza año con año el séptimo día del mes de diciembre y que surge por promesas pagadas de familias devotas con el objetivo de ayudar a los mas necesitados a cambio de un milagro concedido, esta ayuda va desde regalar productos de la canasta básica hasta dulces y juguetes para los niños.

También se celebra muy respetuosamente laSemana Santa con procesiones llamadas Víacrucis que recuerdan la pasión y muerte de Cristo, no obstante hay quienes prefieren quitarse el calor del verano y disfrutar de los paradisíacos balnearios que ofrece el país, mismos que ofrecen servicios de restaurante, bar y discoteque a los visitantes.
